Privacy

Last updated: October 2026

This privacy policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit yannickmettler.ch, for what purpose and to whom it is disclosed. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Controller and contact

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

YM Racing GmbH

Grossmatte 17

6014 Luzern

Switzerland

For questions about data protection and to exercise your rights, you can reach us via the contact form or at the email address given in the imprint.

Hosting, delivery and security (Cloudflare)

This website is operated and delivered via the infrastructure of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (content delivery network, Cloudflare Workers, image optimisation). With every request, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the address requested, date and time, information about your browser and operating system (user agent) and the address of the previous page (referrer). This data is required to deliver the website, to keep it stable and secure and to prevent misuse. We do not store it in a database of our own.

To protect against attacks and automated misuse, Cloudflare uses security functions. In individual cases, for example when a request is classified as suspicious, Cloudflare may set a technically necessary security cookie for this purpose (such as cf_clearance or __cf_bm). In addition, your browser may send technical error reports to Cloudflare if a connection fails (Network Error Logging).

Language detection

If you open the website without a language in the address, we forward you to the matching language version. This is decided by your browser's language settings and, if these contain none of our languages, by the country Cloudflare derives from your IP address. Nothing is stored in the process.

Cloudflare Web Analytics (only with your consent)

With your express consent, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to statistically evaluate the use and technical performance of the website. Analytics is disabled by default; without your consent, the corresponding script is not loaded.

The data collected includes, in particular, the pages viewed (without URL parameters), the previous page (referrer), the country derived from your IP address, browser, operating system and device type, as well as technical loading and performance values. For this purpose, your browser loads a script from static.cloudflareinsights.com and transmits the measurements to Cloudflare; in doing so, Cloudflare receives your IP address for technical reasons.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use analytics cookies or persistent analytics identifiers in the browser. We do not create individual user profiles and do not use the data for advertising or remarketing, but exclusively for statistics, for optimising the website and for its technical performance.

You can change your choice and withdraw any consent you have given at any time with the “Privacy settings” button at the top of this page. Withdrawal applies to the future.

Protection against misuse (Cloudflare Turnstile)

The contact form and the display of our email address in the imprint are protected against automated misuse (spam, bots) by Cloudflare Turnstile. On the contact page, Turnstile is only loaded once you interact with the form; in the imprint, only when you click “Show email”. Turnstile checks technical characteristics of your browser and device to determine whether a request comes from a human; to do so, your browser connects to challenges.cloudflare.com. Our server sends the result of this check together with your IP address to Cloudflare for verification.

In addition, we briefly limit the number of requests per IP address (rate limiting). For this, the IP address is only used for a short time window and is not stored by us.

Contact form and email

If you write to us via the contact form, we process your name, your email address, the subject and your message, as well as the language of the page used and the time of sending. We use this information exclusively to answer your enquiry.

Your message is not stored in a database but forwarded to us by email. You also receive a copy of your message at the address you entered. To send both emails, we use the service Resend, a provider based in the USA, which processes the emails on our behalf.

We keep your enquiry in our mailbox for as long as is necessary to handle it and for any follow-up correspondence, or for as long as statutory retention obligations apply. The same applies if you email us directly.

Instagram and external links

The section showing current Instagram posts is retrieved by our server through Instagram's interface (Meta Platforms) and delivered via yannickmettler.ch. Your browser does not connect to Instagram or Meta, and no social plugins or tracking pixels are embedded.

Only when you click on a post or an external link, for example to one of our partners, do you go to the website of the respective provider. Its own privacy policy applies there.

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not use cookies for advertising or tracking. It only sets one technically necessary cookie of its own for your privacy choice; in addition, the Cloudflare security cookies described above may be set in individual cases. In detail, we store the following in your browser:

Privacy choice (technically necessary first-party cookie): contains only whether or not you have consented to analytics, without any identifier, tracking or advertising ID. Its sole purpose is to store your choice so that we do not ask you again on every page. It is deleted automatically after 180 days (about six months), after which we ask again.

Display mode (session storage, entry “theme”): only if you switch on bright mode. The entry is deleted when you close the tab.

You can delete these entries at any time in your browser settings. If you delete the cookie, analytics is disabled again and we ask you on your next visit.

Fonts and content

Fonts, images, videos and scripts of this website are delivered from yannickmettler.ch. No content is loaded from Google Fonts or other external font or script services, with the exception of the Cloudflare services mentioned above.

Data transfers abroad

Cloudflare and Resend are based in the USA. Data may therefore be processed in the USA and in other countries where these providers operate data centres. Not all of these countries offer an adequate level of data protection from the perspective of Switzerland or the EU. Where available, we rely on the safeguards provided by these providers, such as standard contractual clauses or a certification under the Data Privacy Framework.

Legal bases (for persons in the EU/EEA)

Where the GDPR applies, we base the processing on the following legal bases: delivery, security, protection against misuse and language detection on our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); contact enquiries on the performance of pre-contractual measures or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR); Cloudflare Web Analytics on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose or required by law. The website itself does not keep a database of visitor data. How long Cloudflare and Resend retain technical logs is governed by their own terms.

Your rights

Within the scope of applicable law, you have the right to obtain information about your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted or its processing restricted, to receive it or have it transferred, to object to its processing and to withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please use the contact options above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in Switzerland with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Changes

We may adapt this privacy policy if the website or the services used change. The version published here applies.
